Dessert Kebabs and BBQs

Hello!

Last night I went to my friend Cynthia's house for a barbecue. It was great fun and I met tons of lovely new people. Everyone brought a food or beverage to share and I was on desserts. Of course, I frantically called my mom an hour and a half before the shindig, on my way to the grocery store with nothing in mind for what to make. At her (brilliant) recommendation, I was able to whip up some easy dessert kebabs and I think they were a hit! With the 4th of July just around the corner, I thought I'd share this super easy recipe so you might be able to make them for your next cookout.

To make them, you'll need:

-2 2lb cartons of strawberries (I had a few berries left over)
-4 18ct. boxes of glazed donut holes
-1 c. semisweet chocolate chips
-1 stick of butter
-bamboo skewers

1.Wash the strawberries thoroughly.
2. Skewer the donuts and berries alternately. I could fit five pieces on each skewer, so I did an equal amount of three berry/two donut skewers and three donut/two berry skewers.
3. In a microwave-safe container, melt the butter and chocolate chips. (Microwave for 30-second intervals, stirring in between until the mixture is creamy)
4. Lay out the skewers and drizzle the chocolate sauce over them.
5. Freeze for 10-15 minutes so the chocolate can set.
6. Eat them.

Yields 37 skewers. YUM.
